Paul uses three arguments to push the Galatians away from 'the works of the law'.
1) You have seen Christ crucified
2) You received the Holy Spirit by the 'hearing of faith'
3) You have received the Holy Spirit!
The list of incredible blessings we enjoy in Christ in Ephesians 1:3-14 is not here simply so that we have a list. It was written so that we would praise the God who has so blessed us. We must learn to aim our lives - our energy, plans and hopes - at the substance rather than the details of how our greatest calling is worked out.
Paul prays that we would know the power of God in us because a Christian is someone who has been raised up with Christ. We need to set our expectations based on the fact that the immeasurable greatness of God's power is at work within us.
